Get the Sword Scroll and have Sword and Fire/Ice/Thunder in your inventory. Combine Sword with one of them so you have a Fire/Ice/Thunder Sword. Fire burns, Ice freezes, and Thunder lets you hit metal on the ground and send jolts of electricity travel through the room.
